Unilever and Mars Advertising Top The Hub Magazine’s Shopper Marketing Report

WESTPORT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the second year in a row, Unilever topped The Hub Magazine’s annual “Top 12” ranking of excellence in shopper marketing among brand marketers, edging ConAgra Foods, which came in second, and Procter & Gamble, which came in third.

Among agencies, Mars Advertising came in first for the fourth year in a row, followed by RPM Connect, which finished in second place for the third consecutive year. For the first time, JWT/OgilvyAction was third.
The Hub Magazine asks brand marketers and agencies to evaluate each other in 13 areas critical to success in shopper marketing, an emerging discipline focused on building brands by improving the shopping experience.
This is the fourth year for the annual survey, which for the first time was conducted in collaboration with the University of Tennessee. “Many marketers are moving beyond questioning whether shopper marketing is tactical or strategic and have begun to address the complex and core challenges involved,” said Dr. Dan Flint, Director of the Shopper Marketing Forum and MBA professor at the University of Tennessee.
